Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Before scheduling your first appointment, you can book a free 15-minute phone consultation. This quick call lets us make sure we’re a good fit and gives you a feel for my approach. You can call anytime during business hours or fill out the form below to book a call.

Prior to our first face to face appointment, I offer a 15 minute phone consultation at no charge.  This initial contact will allow us to meet on the phone to assure there is a good match and provides you an opportunity to get an initial sense of me and my approach.  I make every effort to call back as soon as possible.  I look forward to talking to you real soon!

At the initial session or intake, we will go over some forms, talk about consent and privacy, as well as answer any questions you may still have about therapy sessions. My goal at the end of our first meeting is for you and your child to feel comfortable making a return.

I only currently offer in-office sessions.

I got my start working within the school systems as a school based therapist. I believe ongoing consultation with the family is essential to my practice and promotes treatment progress. When appropriate, I also consult with teachers, caregivers, family members, and providers who are involved in the youth’s life. I  work closely with school teams including teachers, learning specialists, and counselors to collaborate on strategies to support student success in the classroom and school environment. I specialize in helping families navigate local schools (preschools to high schools) for placement considerations and educational planning.

I strongly believe that treatment for private emotional difficulties should be a confidential and private process.  Please be aware that insurance companies require you to be diagnosed with a mental disorder and the information may go to a national database.  Also, detailed clinical information is frequently requested as a condition of you receiving payment.  For these reasons, I do not participate in any HMO or PPO provider panels at this time.

I charge $150 per 50-minute individual session and I accept checks, cash and Venmo payments.

I require a minimum of 48 hours notice if you need to cancel for any reason. Our full fee will be charged if you miss an appointment without the required 48-hour notice. Emergencies are understandable and will be discussed at the time of cancellation.
